RTA adjusts routes beginning Feb. 16

(DAYTON, OHIO) … The Greater Dayton RTA periodically adjusts bus service in response to the needs of customers, communities, and businesses. A service change affecting several routes will begin Sunday, Feb. 16. 

LS Service Routes: The RTA runs transportation for Dayton Public Schools (DPS) high school students through Limited Service (LS) bus routes. Additional services to Thurgood Marshall High School and Meadowdale High School were added along Salem Avenue. Additional service was also added to Ponitz Career Technology Center at Greenwich Village and Dayton View Triangle. One bus was eliminated from Greenwich Village to Meadowdale, Fifth Street and Burkhardt Avenue to Belmont High School, and Xenia Avenue and Patterson Avenue to Thurgood Marshall due to low ridership. Route 1, 2, & 4: Routes will now serve Roberts Drive, Fifth Street, and Edwin C. Moses Boulevard due to the closure of the Third Street Bridge. Trip times will be adjusted by an additional 1-2 minutes. 

Route 8: The route will move back to taking Main Street, Riverview Avenue, and Salem Avenue for both inbound and outbound trips. 

Route 9: The 6:30 a.m. southbound trip from Arlene Avenue and Free Pike will be eliminated. 

Route 43: The Route 43 will add additional service to the Crocs distribution center on Union Airpark Road. Northbound weekday trip times will include: 5:46 a.m., 5:54 a.m., 7:12 a.m., 1:35 p.m., and 3:01 p.m. Southbound weekday trip times will include: 7:07 a.m., 11:59 a.m., 3:18 p.m., 3:25 p.m., 4:12 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 12:21 a.m. Northbound Saturday trip times will include: 5:42 a.m., 5:22 p.m., and 6:47 p.m. Southbound Saturday trip times will include: 6:29 a.m., 6:50 a.m., 2:46 p.m., 3:58 p.m., 6:04 p.m., and 7:27 p.m. All northbound and southbound Sunday trips will serve the Crocs facility.

Service will also extend to the Innovative Plastic Molders facility off Dog Leg Road. In addition, the northbound weekday 5:02 p.m. trip will now serve Crossroads Court and Falls Creek via Peters Pike. 

X1A/X1B: Service will return to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. 

The Flyer: A fourth bus will be added to Saturday service to assist with increasing passenger loads.
